Generals Construction Career Day A Success!

The Generals Construction Career Day presented by Castle Group was held on Saturday, April 9, 2017 at the Levine/Slaughter Boys & Girls Club and the Leo Goodwin Teen Center. Over 225 young adults participated in 22 construction related activities including crane operation, property management, air conditioning, carpentry, general contracting and more!

The Nan Knox Boys & Girls Club paid homage to its namesake this month with an expanded pollinator landscape garden, new stone birdbath and 300+ bags of mulch laid down by volunteers from the Club’s advisory council, Broward Master Gardeners, Fort Lauderdale Garden Club and the Fort Lauderdale Orchard Supply Hardware store.

Volunteers Give Back To Nan Knox Club

The Marine Industries Association of South Florida’s 2017 Plywood Regatta was an exciting two day event held at the Dania Beach Marina, Dania Beach, FL., on Saturday April 1 & Sunday April 2, 2017. The objectives of the event are; to introduce young marine enthusiasts and the community to the boat building and the excitement of creational boat building and to design, build and race a sea-worthy vessel and paddles in two days using limited materials.

Nan Knox Wins Second Place In Plywood Regatta!

31st Annual Golf Tournament

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County (BGCBC) hosted the 31st Annual Golf Classic on Friday, March 31, 2017 at the exclusive Woodlands Country Club in Fort Lauderdale. Founded by brothers Bill & Gary Rotella in 1987, the Annual Golf Classic is known as the longest running and finest charitable golf scramble event in Florida.

On March 24th, the Jim and Jan Moran Club hosted Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County’s Annual Cheerleading Competition for a gym full of excited spectators. The cheerleaders were nothing but high energy and all had awesome sportsmanship. The day was filled with jumps, splits and “spirit fingers!”

The Trio played host to 20-25 teen members from the Dr. Harold “HACKIE” Reitman & Nan Knox Linda & Douglas Von Allmen Campus Clubs March 8th, 2017 – March 10, 2017.

On Saturday, March 11, 2017, guests of the 21st Annual DEX imaging Ranch Roam presented by the Florida Panthers Foundation, dressed in their best cowboy and cowgirls duds enjoyed a night of Old West excitement. The event, hosted by “Alligator” Ron Bergeron & Ali Waldman and chaired by Polly Wilkie, took place at Ron Bergeron’s Green Glades West Ranch.

Dr. Harold Reitman Keystone Club wins Boys & Girls Clubs of America Keystone Club of the Year!!! Congratulations to Coach Christine, Club Staff and all of our members!! The announcement was made at the 50th Annual National Keystone Conference in Chicago, IL earlier this month. The conference is attended by Keystone teens from across the country where they participate in breakout sessions and hear from keynote speakers on topics relevant to teens and their success.
