Carver Ranches Unit

SWIM INSTRUCTOR/LIFEGUARD
You are needed NOW for part time position 8am - 1pm on weekdays during the school year on an on-call basis. Swim instructors will run a safe and FUN swimming program that teaches children to swim, and to assist with pre-post tests and skills teaching.

Part time hours available now, with additional hours available (up to 40 hrs a week) in the summer time.

  • Must have current lifeguard certification, current CPR/AED training and First Aid.
  • Higher rate available for WSI certified lifeguards.
  • Effective communication skills, superior interpersonal abilities including the ability to get along with diverse personalities, and display tact, maturity, and flexibility are needed for this position.
  • Experience working with children, good reasoning abilities and sound judgment are also needed.
  •  Swim Central experience a plus.
  • Must have own transportation.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Ensure safety of swimmers and assist in classes and other activities conducted in the swimming pool.
  • Enforce all pool rules, assist with swimming classes and tests, assume responsibility in absence of Aquatics Program Supervisor; help organize games and special events in pool.
  • Observe all safety precautions at all times, including ensuring that boys and girls shower and are clean before swimming.
  • A safe and fun swimming program that teaches all non-swimmers how to swim.

ADULT AIDE
Adult Aide needed on a temporary basis, 25 hours per week and will be responsible to assist the Supervisor/Instructor in a particular area of the Club as needed to help the members, oversee activities, control and gather the members for specific activities and similar tasks. Adult Aide will assist in other areas of the Club as needed.

  • Positive energetic, and self-motivated individual with a passion for working with children and teens.
  • Able to work effectively on a team as well as in a self-directed environment and will possess excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Prior experience working with youth is a plus.
  • Monday – Friday 3pm – 8pm during school days.

YOUTH AIDE
Youth Aide is responsible to assist the Supervisor/Instructor in a particular area of the Club as needed to help the members, oversee activities, control and gather the members for specific activities, and similar tasks. Youth Aide will assist in other areas of the Club as needed. 

  • Positive, energetic, and self-motivated individual with a passion for working with children and teens.
  • Able to work effectively on a team as well as in a self-directed environment and will possess excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Prior experience working with youth is a plus. 
  • Monday-Friday from 3:00pm to 8:00pm during school days.

  • Need to be highly energetic, enthusiastic and creative.
  • Must be able to multi task.
  • Ability to work with large groups.
  • Must exhibit high level of maturity and ability to maintain control when dealing with members.
  • College level education preferred but not required.

  • Assist in implementation of BGCA specific programs designed to improve interpersonal skills and develop a positive atmosphere toward achieving long term good character and leadership behaviors as an alternate to joining gangs.

  • Promote and stimulate interest in the Arts & Crafts program.

  • See that facilities, equipment and supplies are given proper care and maintenance.
  • Participate in staff conferences and meetings/art workshops.
