Health & PE Coordinator

The primary function of the Health & PE Coordinator is to assist the Director and Program Manager in planning and facilitating the programs of the assigned Club.

Primary Responsibilities and Essential Requirements Include:

  • Play, publicize, organize, and conduct activities, tournaments, special events, etc.
  • Prepare written plans for program activities including goals, mechanics, needs, and cost projection
  • Supervise, train, and motivate staff and volunteers
  • Develop and implement new athletic programs
  • Organize all league activity
  • Organize and conduct rules clinics for coaches and officials
  • Recruit, supervise, and train volunteers for physical departments and other areas of responsibility
  • Organize and supervise playground activities
  • Assist Club Director and Program Manager is special event planning and programming
  • Plan, promote, and conduct physical department special events on a monthly basis
  • Assume responsibility for Group Club if so assigned
  • Maintain Bulletin Board for areas responsible for and post general health and hygiene related information
  • Stimulate interest and participation in community events

Qualifying Requirements:

  • Must possess at least a Bachelor’s degree in sports education or related field
  • Minimum one year experience working with children in a full time position
  • Ability to interact with diverse personalities, in a non-emotional, non-confrontational manner
  • Display tact, maturity, and flexibility at all times
  • Must have and maintain a safe driving record
  • CPR and First Aid certification preferred
P.E. Assistant

Must possess the ability to plan, organize, implement and supervise athletic programs for members ages 6-18. Need to be energetic, enthusiastic & creative. Must have general knowledge all sports and be able to officiate sports activities (i.e. flag football, basketball, soccer, etc). Applicant must be at least 21 years of age. Part time , M-F, 2:15pm-7:30pm. Rotating Saturdays 11am-3pm.  Must pass our pre-employment screening and possess a valid driver’s license and safe driving record.

Fitness Instructor

Must possess the ability to plan, organize, implement and supervise fitness/weight training programs for Teens ages 13-18.  Must be certified in personal fitness/weight training and have some experience in working with youth. Applicant must be at least 21 years of age. Part time , M-F, 3:30pm-6:30pm. Must pass our pre-employment screening.

The primary function of the Social Recreation Coordinator is to assist the Director and Program Manager in planning and facilitating the programs of the assigned club.

Primary Responsibilities and Essential Requirements Include:

  • Plan, publicize, organize, and conduct recreational activities, tournaments, games, leagues, and special events
  • Responsible for preparing written plans for program activities including goals, mechanics, needs, and cost projections
  • Supervise and motivate staff and volunteers in your department
  • Counsel and discipline members in accordance with BGCBC policy and procedures
  • Assume management of facility in the absence of Unit Director or Program Manager
  • Maintain accurate program records and make sure monthly statistical records are given to supervisor
  • Facilitate the development and implementation of new programs
  • Maintain Bulletin Board for areas responsible for and posting general health and hygiene related information.
  • Assist in special projects as need arises (i.e. fundraising, Day Camp, and other organizational Special Events)
  • Assist and facilitate training of Unit staff
  • Recommend and requisition supplies for areas of responsibility
  • Compose periodic reports to Unit Director
  • Develop a new member orientation program on a monthly and provide continuous contact with parents and local schools
  • Organize and conduct scheduled skill clinics for members and club staff
  • Assume responsibility for various contracted programs
  • Assist with other Boys & Girls Clubs activities/special events if requested to do so

Qualifying Requirements:

  • Must possess at least a Bachelor’s degree in child psychology or related field
  • Minimum of one year experience working with children in a full time position.
  • Ability to interact with diverse personalities, in a non-emotional, non-confrontational manner
  • Display tact, maturity.

 

Gamesroom Assistant

Junior Gamesroom Supervisor needed with the ability to assist in planning, organizing, implementing and supervising recreational programs and games for club members ages 6 – 10 in a game room setting. This is a part time position M-F, 2:00pm-7:00pm, and on non-school days from 9:00am – 5:00pm. This person must be 21 years or older with a high energy level, superior interpersonal abilities. Ability to get along with diverse personalities, displaying tact, maturity and flexibility at all times. Good reasoning abilities and sound judgment. Position requires enthusiasm and creativity.

  • Must be able to multi task.
  • Ability to work with large groups.
  • Must exhibit high level of maturity and ability to maintain control when dealing with members.
  • College level education preferred but not required.
  • Applicants must pass a back ground check and drug screening.

Athletic Assistant
Athletic assistant needed. We are looking for a positive, organized, energetic, and professional individual with the ability to multi-task and supervise youth ages 6-18 in athletic and recreational sports in the gym. This is a part-time, year round position working monday-friday 2-7:30pm during school hours and 9-5pm during the summer and “no school” days. Applicants must pass a back ground check and drug screening.
