EVENTS COORDINATOR is needed by Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County to assist in the coordination of successful Events while meeting budgetary goals. The candidate hired will work as part of the Events team producing some of the most successful and well known events in Broward County.

As Events Coordinator you will be expected to:
-Assist in producing Unit level Events, and other Corporate level events, and all additional events.
-Responsibilities will include, but will not limited to, attending committee meetings, assisting with Live and Silent Auctions, staffing, training and supervising BGCBC staff and volunteers, attending and producing sub-event functions and varied delegated assignments that ensure the success of outlined events.
-Prepare, monitor and control produced events annual revenue and expense budget.
-Assist in obtaining sponsorships, table sales, advertisers, auction items and other revenue sources.

-Effectively manage, train and motivate staff and volunteers on a daily basis and other BGCBC staff and volunteers during the events.
-Manage the expenses associated with above-mentioned events.
-Act as primary contact to the BGCBC and event Vendors.

-Maintain close daily communication with Director of Corporate Events and Senior Event Director.
-Maintain daily communication with Accounting Department to ensure correct input of all donations, billing and expenses.
-Work in a positive and professional manner with all program staff while assisting with special events.
-Maintain excellent communication with event personnel while mentoring and training such individuals.
-Communicate with appropriate Board members, Committee Chairs and Members, event staff, volunteers, sponsors, vendors and act as liaison where appropriate for Boys and Girls Clubs of Broward County.

-4-year Degree required.
-Minimum of two (2) years' experience in successful (meeting budgetary goals) event planning.
-Demonstrate skills and experience in the production of financially successful special events ranging from multi-day to single-day events.
-Demonstrate the ability to lead, train, direct and motivate volunteers and staff.
-Demonstrate the ability to manage a budget.

-Ability to use Microsoft Office programs, including spreadsheets and word processing with a high degree of accuracy.
-Exceptional customer service skills and attention to detail.
-Ability to understand and negotiate contracts with vendors.
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
-Ability to display a positive attitude and professional demeanor at all times

-Reliable transportation needed to attend meetings and events.

The majority of work will be conducted in an office setting; however, major blocks of time will be away from the office and at the event venues. Various off-site meetings will occur at respective Boys & Girls Clubs or Volunteer offices.

Physical and mental requirements:
Sit for 4 or more hours per day. Standing, lifting items and bending are also necessary to the role. Good sight and hearing are essential. Successfully communicate through speaking, writing and reading with comprehension. Manage multiple tasks with varying deadlines.

MAINTENANCE ENGINEER Full time, year round position, working throughout Broward County at various Boys & Girls Clubs facilities completing work orders and assuring the Clubs assigned are in proper working order with minimum disruption to the flow of staff and Club members. Must demonstrate professionalism at all times.

Position requires a broad base of knowledge in all building-related areas of repairs and/or maintenance, including but not limited to:
*Plumbing: Repair fixtures, faucets, shut off valves, drainage, etc.
*Electrical: replace light bulbs, ballasts, back-up batteries and repair fan fixtures, light fixtures, switches, and receptacles, etc.
*Carpentry: build and repair wall framing, door hanging and sheetrock installations, rough to finish including repairs to partitions, cabinets, platforms, tables, and all game tables, etc.
*Glazing: Minor glass and window repairs
*HVAC: Basic A/C repairs and maintenance
*Installation and replacement of ceiling and floor tiles;
*Wall repair: including plaster, sand and paint.
*Irrigation System: repair ruptured sprinkler lines, replace damaged spray heads and reset sprinkler timer and programming as needed
*Locksmithing; repair and replace door locks, door handles, hydraulic door closers, and door hardware, etc.
*Warehouse: moving, storage, and inventory tracking, including the upkeep of the maintenance shop area.
*Automotive: Minor van repair and maintenance

*Keep detailed records of work orders and activities in a daily log.
*Document and report potential safety hazards and report to supervisor.
*Perform monthly inspections of Clubs and report building-related discrepancies to supervisor in writing.
*Order parts or materials when authorized and requested to do so by supervisor.
*Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
*Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
*Perform all other duties assigned or needed.
*Must be willing to assist in special events and adjust your schedule accordingly.

-Position requires a high school diploma/GED or completion of military service with honorable discharge; and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and building maintenance experience.
-An AA degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance a plus;
-Minimum of five (5) years demonstrated experience working and repair experience in all building trades at an intermediate level or above, to include Air Conditioning, Plumbing, Electrical, Carpentry, wall and floor repairs.
-Verifiable building trades work experience of five (5) or more years, certifications appropriate to the skills, EPA A/C Certificate required.
-Must by highly motivated and able to work independently and in teams as needed.

High energy level, and comfortable performing multi-faceted projects in conjunction with day-to-day activities.

Employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds, heavier weight necessary at times. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Skills essential for successful communications include good listening, speaking and writing skills. Must have ability to get along with diverse personalities; at all times displaying tact, maturity and flexibility, good reasoning abilities and sound judgment.

Must pass company paid level 2 background screening (fingerprinting), drug screening and have a clean driving record.

Youth Aide - Weight Room

Must possess the ability to plan, organize, implement and supervise athletic programs for members ages 6-18. Need to be energetic, enthusiastic & creative. Must have general knowledge all sports and be able to officiate sports activities (i.e. flag football, basketball, soccer, etc). Applicant must be at least 21 years of age.
