On December 20, the Lester H. White Boys & Girls Club in Fort Lauderdale was transformed into a broadcast center for the 7th Annual Channing Crowder Toy Drive, sponsored by WQAM 560 Sports Radio. Hosted by the man himself, Channing Crowder, who is the former Captain of the Miami Dolphins and long-time friend and supporter of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County. Over the course of the day, WQAM was on the air asking listeners to come to the club and drop off toys and gift cards for our Club Members.
Brian Quail, President/CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County, joined Channing on air to talk about the toy drive and how important these gifts are to children who might not have a happy Christmas because of challenging economic circumstances of their family. The children and families are truly grateful to Channing Crowder and WQAM for their continued support of this incredible event and for all of our supporters who took the time to stop by the club and contribute to this worthwhile cause to help brighten the holiday season for our Club Members. The Channing Crowder Toy drive brought in over $8,000.00 worth of gifts and toys.
