Boys & Girls Club Week Proclaimed
April 9-13th, 2018 was Boys & Girls Club Week, a time to celebrate the Clubs’ impact on the lives of local youth. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County has grown from a small renovated church with a few members to a vital part of the community which serves 12,500 kids and teens annually in 8 cities within Broward County. Our primary role is providing a safe and fun place for kids when school is out. But, those who choose to enter our doors have opportunities to sharpen their character and leadership skills as well as enrich their lives academically and athletically.
We celebrated BGC Week in our 12 clubs hosting alumni, highlighting programs and sharing our rich history. We are also proud that several of our partners recognized our success by Proclaiming BGC Week 2018. BGC Week has been proclaimed in the Town of Davie, North Lauderdale, West Park, Hollywood, Broward County Board of Commissioners and Broward County Public Schools. Thank you for acknowledging the positive impact of our partnership on the lives of local youth.
As we seek to serve more kids better we will continue to leverage these and other partnerships to maximize services to those who need us most.
Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County have celebrated Boys & Girls Club Week nationally by recognizing the invaluable service Clubs bring to communities. National Boys & Girls Club Week shines a spotlight on the 61,000 caring, trained youth development professionals who mentor kids and teens every day in 4,300 Clubs across the nation and on U.S. military installations worldwide. Our skilled staff help kids dream big and realize their full potential. Whether they have aspirations of becoming an all-star athlete or an astronaut, Boys & Girls Clubs are a place to become.
