Broward College Takes Over our Lauderhill Club

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County partnered with Broward College and the City of Lauderhill for a day of fun and service at the Lauderhill Club on Saturday April 13.  Over 100 volunteers from Broward College’s BC Cares program were in attendance along with the President of Broward College, Gregory Haile.  Mr. Haile announced the kick-off of his initiative to tackle poverty within Broward County.  President Haile was joined by the Mayor of Lauderhill, Ken Thurston.  Over 75 youth were in attendance that day to compete in a field day at the Lauderhill Club; Members focused on team-building, collaboration and promoting a bully-free zone.  It was a beautiful, sunny day for outdoor activities and fun.  The volunteers filled the club and grounds of the facility with activities happening every direction you looked.  Activities included a hula-hoop relay, three-legged race, tic-tac-toe relay, potato sack race, and more!  Broward College generously donated lunch from ARC Broward catering; the youth and volunteers enjoyed hot dogs, hamburgers, chips and many other delicious treats.  The day concluded with a tug of war competition and spirit award!

Broward College generously donated $1,000 to BGCBC and The City of Lauderhill presented BGCBC with a proclamation for Boys & Girl Clubs Week, which was April 8-12. We want to thank Broward College and the City of Lauderhill for their generous support of our organization.
