Channing Crowder’s Annual Flag Football Camp

Once again, Channing Crowder brought his “A Game” and a couple of his ex-teammates to the Lester H White Boys & Girls Club on Saturday, May 18 for the 6th Annual Channing Crowder Flag Football Camp.   Channing, along with some help from Terry Kirby, Stacey Coley, Kendall Langford, Vern Carey, Shawn Wooden and Donnell Bennet, taught the basic skills of football and ran drills with 78 of our Club members from the Carver Ranches, Nan Knox, Case, Stephanis, DeGeorge and LHW Clubs.  It was a hot day but our Club members had a blast and took the opportunity to “show” the retired NFL players a thing or two!  Club members finished off the morning showcasing what they learned in a friendly scrimmage.   After lunch, Channing gave out awards to the players who demonstrated skills, positive attitude and determination.

We want to thank Channing for his continued support of our organization, mission and Club members.  Thanks also goes out to all the retired NFL players who took the time to help Channing out and to Corporate Board Member Rod Hagan, who donated breakfast items from McDonald’s.   We look forward to next year!
