Generals Construction Career Day A Success!

The Generals Construction Career Day presented by Castle Group was held on Saturday, April 9, 2017 at the Levine/Slaughter Boys & Girls Club and the Leo Goodwin Teen Center. Over 225 young adults participated in 22 construction related activities including crane operation (Allegiance Crane & Equipment) , property management (Castle Group), air conditioning (AA Advance Air), carpentry (Peace Millwork & MC Velar),  general contracting (Coastal Construction & Miller Construction), duct and metal work (Thermal Concepts), electric/drywall (C. Davis Electric/Lotspeich), onscreen takeoff (ANF Group), concrete/forming (JA&M Developing Corporation), welding (Steel Fabricators), roofing (Advanced Roofing & Best Roofing), plumbing (Nagelbush), surveying (Schwebke-Shiskin & Associates), wall paneling (Acousti), low volt (CIS), heavy equipment (HJ Foundation), masonry (Coastal Masonry).  

During the event, teen Club Members completed hands-on activities while learning about the construction trades. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County would like to especially thank MC Velar for building wonderful bleachers for the Club pool, GT McDonald for renovating the gym storage closet, Acousti for completing the new wall paneling for the Leo Goodwin Teen Center and Peace Millwork for the fabulous cubbies.
