NSU Career Launch

BGCBC visited the Nova Southeastern University Campus on November 11, 2019. Sixty (60) high school juniors and seniors were invited to tour the campus and learn about NSU admissions and traditions. To kick off the event, Rick & Rita Case addressed the teen members and spoke about the Rick & Rita Case scholarship to NSU offered to BGCBC teen members. The members had the opportunity to tour the dorms, library, and the Don Taft University center—home of the Rick Case Arena. After their tour, NSU staff provided lunch and personalized NSU “swag bags” to each member. NSU’s financial aid department presented the scholarship opportunities offered through NSU highlighting the Rick & Rita Case scholarship that allows members to attend NSU for free. NSU’s career development office informed members of the career opportunities for NSU students. Last on the agenda was the NSU student panel. Rick and Rita Case Club alumni, Larique P., shared how the Rick & Rita Case scholarship impacted his college experience. Before heading home, NSU had the members participate in a team building activity.

“I didn’t think NSU would ever be a college option for me because of the potential cost to attend. Now that I know about the Rick & Rita Case Scholarship, I’ve added NSU on my list of schools to apply to.” Jasmine C., Marti Huizenga Club member
