SKECHERS SHOE EVENT

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County partnered with Tiffany Turner and Soles 4 Souls for its very 1st Skecher’s Day event. With the help of Club staff and volunteers from both Soles 4 Souls and Shoe Carnival, over 1,500 pairs of Bob’s Clogs were distributed to Club members and their families county-wide.  The event was hosted on Monday, September 30th at 3 different club sites; Rick & Rita Case in Davie, Lester H. White/ NFL YET Center in Fort Lauderdale, and Levine/Slaughter in North Lauderdale.   Hundreds of eager Club members were bussed to the three designated clubs in hopes of receiving new shoes. Once inside the Club, each member had their feet sized and received their very own pair of Bob’s Clogs. Then, the magic REALLY began!   After receiving their clogs, the members had the opportunity to use markers and various other supplies to customize the shoes any way they wanted! A few flower and name painted clogs later, our members were smiling and sporting their newly customized shoes and showing them off to anyone in sight.

To conclude the event, each member enjoyed refreshments, and received a nice tote bag to carry their clogs back to the club in style.

A special thank you to Rita Case for her help in making this event possible for our members and staff.  We would also like to thank Tiffany Turner with Soles 4 Souls and Taylor Cooney from Skecher’s, as well as the volunteers from Shoe Carnival for taking a non-school day and making it fun for our members.  Your support of our organization is much appreciated!
