Youth Learn Football Fundamentals From The Pros!

Channing Crowder and the Miami Dolphins brought the fun to the NFL YET Lester H White Boys & Girls Club for over 75 members on June 3rd, 2017 for the 4th Annual Channing Crowder Youth Football Camp! Channing Crowder, former Miami Dolphin linebacker, began the camp in 2014 and with annual grants provided by the NFL Foundation, the camp gives back to the Clubs and teaches members the importance of applying passion and discipline to sports, academics, and a healthy lifestyle. This year, the camp welcomed members from the neighboring Rick & Rita Case and Florence A. DeGeorge Clubs, which gave members at other Clubs the opportunity to show off their talents.  Even when the camp got rained out, activities continued in the Lester H. White gym. Thank you to Channing Crowder, Johnny Williams, Kenyan Drake, Tremaine McCullum, Troy Drayton and Twan Russell for helping put together another successful Camp!!!

Channing Crowder’s Youth Football Camp is a 4 hour camp that teaches youth football fundamentals while instilling like skills that contribute to good character and positive development.  Critical lessons that are taught are: following through on commitment, pushing yourself to try new things and valuing experiences with coaches and players who have attained success and can attest to the values and morals it takes to achieve it.  A core program area, members of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County have consistent access to programs and activities promoting good character and citizenship, such as youth groups, community service projects and leadership courses.

We thank everyone who participated in this year’s event and look forward to next year!
