THE BOYS & GIRLS CLUBS OF BROWARD COUNTY’S 31ST ANNUAL RENDEZVOUS
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County hosted its 31st Annual Yacht Rendezvous November 8-10, 2018. Founded by Rita and Rick Case of Rick Case Automotive Group and chaired by Christy and Larry Hierholzer, the event took place at Miami’s Fisher Island Club all to benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County and the more than 12,300 youth it serves.
The three-day "Calling All Superheroes” kicked off on Thursday night with a VIP Welcome Reception for our Admirals, Yacht Owners, Sponsors and weekend guests. Friday’s event lineup included a fashion show and scavenger hunt where guests tried to rescue a hostage kidnapped by the Riddler. Friday evening’s Superheroes Yacht Hop included the largest gathering of mega-yachts for charity in the country and guests were treated to ‘the good life’ as yacht owners and captains did their best to out-do one another and impress their newly boarded guests. Guests were treated to delectable cuisine, gourmet desserts and a drink contest sponsored by One with Life Tequila. Late night dancing was at Club Flash.
The celebrations continued on Saturday with the Superheroes Training Academy with Boys & Girls Clubs members. The “Gotham City” Black Tie Gala was the grand finale of the weekend at the Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne with an encore performance by Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County Alumnus, Jason DeRulo. Deborah and Gary Wendt, who have supported the Boys & Girls Clubs of Broward County for many years, were inducted into the exclusive Dream Makers Society.
A big thank you to Orlando Longwood Auto Auction and South Florida Auto Auction of Fort Lauderdale for sponsoring all the entertainment.
